Prepositions of place (next to, opposite, near, between)
Use prepositions of place to say where something is. They come before the place.
The bank is next to the supermarket.
The hotel is opposite the park.
The café is near the station.
The restaurant is between the bank and the cinema.

Finding the Hotel
Tom is in a new city. He has a map. He is looking for his hotel. A woman helps him. She says: 'Go straight on this street. Turn left at the bank. The hotel is opposite the park, next to a restaurant.' Tom thanks her and walks. He finds the hotel. It is big and nice. There is a café near the entrance. Tom is happy.
